A Spring Spectacular for all the family with music, song, dance and amazing costumes! From the Mediterranean to the Siberian Sea, countries and communities who share Turkic languages celebrate the magical Nevruz (New Year or Spring) Festival. Be captivated by a colourful and dynamic show with over 100 dancers, singers, musicians and magnificent traditional costumes from all over Central Asia and experience the magic and fire of Nevruz! Be enchanted by princesses in glittering dresses of bygone days, feel the energy of massed percussionists in perfect rhythm, dream with the magic of the haunting ney flute and kemence fiddle, and see scores of traditional dances from Cossack-style high kicks and courtly serenades to raucous folk dances. This is an evening of fun and magic for all the family, a unique chance to embark on a cultural journey and to feel the magic of the orient. It’s a once and only once show. Don’t miss it!
New York City
The first stop of TURKSOY’s Nevruz Celebrations 2016 in the USA will be New York. Artists from the Turkic World will take the scene in the United Nations General Assembly Hall on March 28th, followed by the Baruch College Performing Art Center on March 29th, 2016. Following their performances in New York, artists from the Turkic World will take the scene at the Warner Theatre in Washington on April 1st, 2016 at 07.30 pm. The performance which will take place with the contribution of more than 100 artists from the Turkic World will be accessible without any entrance fee. Nevruz Celebrations are the most important traditional event carried out by TURKSOY. Every year, these celebrations take place with the contribution of hundreds of artists from the Turkic World who take the scene in various countries around the globe to introduce the Nevruz Feast to large audiences and celebrate it as the common cultural heritage of humanity all together. Upon initiative of TURKSOY, March 21st was declared International Nevruz Day by the United Nations.

TURKSOY, the International Organization of Turkic Culture also known as the UNESCO of the Turkic World was established in 1993 upon signature of its founding agreement by the Ministers of Culture of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey. Later on, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Republics subject to the Russian Federation, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Altai, Sakha Yakutia, Tyva and Khakassia also joined the organization along with Gagauzia (Moldova) as member states with an observer status. For more than 20 years now, TURKSOY has been carrying out various activities to strengthen the ties of brotherhood and solidarity among Turkic peoples and transmit their cultural heritage to future generations.

Famous artists and ensembles from Turkic countries and communities ranging from Europe to Siberia come together in the USA. The Nevruz Celebrations of TURKSOY will feature performances of more than 100 artists including State Folk Dance Ensembles, Ethnic Music Ensembles and famous artists from the Turkic World.
